Commercialising the Cloud

Cloud Computing is becoming commercial. According to recent reports, cloud vendor Eucalyptus is rumoured to be raising venture cash at a whopping $100 million valuation. And now, a dedicated conference is in the pipeline with the name: Commercialising the Cloud.

Cloud computing is still an industry in its infancy, and the buzz around whether or not it’s one that will start raining down cash is in the air. There’s certainly no shortage of exceptionally cool cloud computing technology around. But as they say, is there any gold in those there clouds? The answer is yes, but when the money will start to materialise is another thing. Some industry analysts have already said the cloud computing market is already worth $56.3 billion. Cloud computing has almost trickled into the mainstream and so is creating serious revenue waves. Although there is still a large amount of trial and evaluation at work in the cloud computing industry, there are certainly healthy signs of good revenue to come over the coming years.
