Why do you need an Exchange Server support contract?
According to Microsoft, 90 percent of Exchange Administrators fail to carry out preventative exchange server support or maintenance of their Exchange Server Databases until after a disaster strikes.
A few of the reasons for this have been identified as Low understanding of the issues and how to address the problems. No time, resource, or budget to address the maintenance task.
Non-availability of test equipment (and the high impact of testing in a production environment). Incorrect assumption that the risk of doing nothing outweighs the risk of pro-activity. Technically capable but see preventative maintenance as boring and time consuming.
Failed Server
The true cost of email server downtime cannot be measured solely by the charges incurred to recover the server in an emergency.
When the loss of email communication results in lost orders and lost business, combined with a severe loss of productivity in staff, then the "soft" costs invariably dwarf the "hard" costs of repair.
