Two More Years of Downturn
Deducted from a pole created for dealers, MotorTrader.com has revealed that the recession is not yet over, and will remain in the industry for a further two years. The Motor Trade Baker Tilly survey tells us that a huge 77% believe that the car retailing sector will not pull out of the downturn until 2011/12.
This pole was carried out in October 2009, and although the figures have since proved slightly, the general view in the industry remains to be that downturn will continue to affect for a further two years. In saying this, a positive 80% of dealers said that against the odds, their business had made a profit in the year of 2009, and this is expected to improve over the years.
